QUALIFICATION

  • Graduate of BS Accountancy or any related course
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a similar role. Must have an experience in the field of tax or audit
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tax Compliance

  • Supervise and review works of tax accounting staffs to ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (e.g., VAT, Income Tax, Compensation Withholding Tax, Expanded Withholding Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax, etc.) through on-time and proper review.
  • Review required tax documentation and reports to the BIR and other regulatory bodies prior to submission.
  • Oversee inspection and review of transactional documents (e.g., invoices, official receipts, sales and purchase documents) on a sampling basis to ensure proper documentation in compliance with BIR invoicing and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure timely application and adherence.

Tax Reporting and Reconciliation

  • Oversee and perform detailed review of monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of tax accounts prepared by staff.
  • Time-to-time validation of tax-related entries and balances in the general ledger.
  • Analyze discrepancies and implement corrective actions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate within finance and other departments concerns to ensure alignment between tax reports and financial statements

BIR Audit Assistance

  • Act as the main point of contact during BIR audits.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required documents, schedules, and reconciliations to support audit findings
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and BIR examiners to address queries and resolve issues
  • Monitor audit progress and ensure compliance with BIR timelines and requirements

Advisory and Planning

  • Assist in the conduct of tax impact assessments for business projects and propose tax-efficient structures or approaches.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax forecast, reports, and analysis needed for reporting and planning

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Provide tax advisory support to internal stakeholders on business transactions, contracts, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to the Tax Accounting Supervisor
  • Provide tax-related documents as requested by the immediate superior or other departments

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Oversee organized records of all tax-related documents for audit and reference.
  • Support and supervise audit and internal review processes by ensuring documentation is complete, accessible, and up to date
