The
Materials Recovery Planning Manager
oversees the planning, recovery, and optimization of raw and packaging materials to support production efficiency, sustainability, and cost control. This role ensures effective materials utilization, minimizes waste, and drives recovery initiatives aligned with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The manager works closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align recovery planning with business needs and sustainability targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recovery planning processes for raw and packaging materials.
  • Monitor material consumption, waste, and recovery levels to ensure accurate planning and utilization.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Production teams to optimize recovered materials usage while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Manage MRP system parameters to ensure accurate forecasting and planning.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality assurance, and environmental standards.
  • Track and report KPIs such as recovery rates, material variances, and waste reduction.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce material losses and enhance recovery efficiency.
  • Train and guide warehouse, production, and planning teams on materials recovery practices.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability teams on initiatives related to recycling, reuse, and circular supply chain.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for management on recovery performance and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, or supply chain management (food manufacturing or FMCG preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Experience in waste minimization, recovery planning, or sustainability programs.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • Leadership experience with cross-functional collaboration.
