Job Description:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze aging reports to identify unpaid or underpaid claims.
  • Follow up with insurance companies and third-party payers to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Submit appeals, demands and rebuttals
  • Communicate with patients and internal departments to resolve billing issues.
  • Document all activities and maintain accurate records in the EHR/PM system.
  • Monitor trends in denials and reimbursement delays and escalate as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.

Qualification and requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, AR follow-up, or revenue recovery.
  • Experience with commercial payers
  • IDR Recovery efforts, preferred

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of healthcare billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Familiarity with EOBs, remittance advice, and payer portals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with billing software and EHR systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, AR follow-up, or revenue recovery.
  • Experience with commercial payers
  • Agrees to work in the office full time
