Take-Off Specialist (Estimator)

We are looking for a Take-Off Specialist who is keen on learning and growing with the organization. The successful candidate will render support to our US-based client.

The Take Off Specialist works closely with many other professionals including contractors, suppliers/vendors, and operations personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive quantity take off for pricing.

The Take Off Specialist is expected to uphold the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism and must ensure that information gathered are to be used solely for the purpose for which they are intended.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


• Receive assigned job from operations personnel. Date started, quote number and initials. Read notes section.


• Download plans for the assigned job. Open up plans and proceed to scale & label needed pages. Pay attention to plans for particular job. Make sure to have the correct plans for the job assigned. Pay attention to cover pages for notes. Start researching the job and any items that need special attention.


• Go through plans to make take offs for quotes of materials that the company is able to supply on the project on all items.


• Proceed to build a take-off list based on the plans and/or bid schedule. Go through all construction notes and specifications, if present.


• Verify all specifications per district, city, or location of job. Double check standards and any approved materials list that may be available. This includes all proper materials needed for job.


• The ability to communicate with sales team and most importantly the client.


• Perform other related tasks that are deemed necessary for operations.

QUALIFICATIONS


• Estimating experience is required.


• Civil engineering or construction related background.


• Reading blue prints, architectural plans, and construction drawings.


• Knowledge of estimating, Microsoft, and Google software.


• Organizing skills is essential, time management, problem solver, multi-tasking


• Strong communicative skills with the sales team members and clients if needed.


• The ability to pay attention to small details


• Self-sufficient and problem solver


• Minimum 3-5 years of take-off and estimating experience preferred.


• Proficiency in PlanSwift or Bluebeam is preferred.


• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering a plus.

***This is a permanent Work-from-Home arrangement and the successful candidate will be provided with a company-issued computer. Candidates must have a stable, fast, and reliable internet connection at home with at least 75 MBPS, capable of supporting video / voice calls and sustaining seamless access to large files.

***Candidate must be amenable to working on graveyard shifts, US Hawaii time zone, or on an assigned, variable schedule.
