Formworks Supervisor

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.

A licensed Civil Engineer is an advantage.

Training or certification in formwork design or structural systems (CFE or equivalent) is preferred.

Strong knowledge of concrete technology, formwork systems, and structural safety requirements.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and project scheduling tools such as MS Excel or Primavera P6.

Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro is an advantage.

Minimum related experience in formwork operations or structural supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Responsibilities (20%)

Contribute to formwork planning and methodology that supports overall project timelines and structural requirements.

Review and provide input on formwork designs, load calculations, and construction sequencing to improve efficiency and safety.

Support management in developing long-term strategies for formwork resource allocation, materials planning, and system selection.

Ensure formwork operations align with engineering standards, structural safety, and project objectives.

Recommend improvements to formwork systems, procedures, and safety practices for enhanced performance and cost effectiveness.

2. Tactical Responsibilities (40%)

Supervise formwork crews in the installation, alignment, bracing, and dismantling of formwork systems.

Review and interpret formwork drawings, structural plans, and technical specifications to ensure correct implementation.

Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and safety officers to plan daily and weekly formwork activities.

Ensure proper allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials needed for formwork tasks.

Monitor work progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays or quality defects.

Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings to keep the crew aligned with safety and technical requirements.

Inspect completed formwork assemblies for accuracy, stability, alignment, and compliance with engineering standards.

Coordinate with the QA/QC team to ensure formwork works pass inspections prior to concreting.

3. Operational Responsibilities (40%)

Execute hands-on supervision of formwork construction, including measurement, layout, and adjustment of formwork systems.

Ensure proper handling, installation, tightening, and bracing of formwork components to meet structural safety requirements.

Oversee the safe stripping and removal of formwork after concrete curing, following approved procedures.

Maintain accurate records of formwork materials, manpower usage, and daily work activities.

Monitor the condition of formwork materials and request repairs or replacements when needed.

Ensure safety practices are strictly followed, including fall protection, lifting procedures, and equipment operation.

Provide real-time updates to supervisors regarding site conditions, progress, material needs, and any structural concerns.

Assist in preparing work schedules, material requests, and progress reports related to formwork operations.
