About the role

The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling all company vehicles, equipment, and machinery to ensure their safe and efficient operation. The role involves diagnosing mechanical problems, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting timely repairs to minimize downtime in plantation and mill operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and other agricultural vehicles
  2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing repairs and overhauls as needed
  3. Collaborating with the operations team to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all equipment
  4. Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and repair work
  5. Adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment for the team
  6. Providing mentorship and guidance to more junior mechanics, as required

What we're looking for

  1. At least Vocational or Technical Graduate (Automotive servicing or Mechanical)
  2. Preferably with TESDA NC II Certificate in Automotive Servicing.
  3. Knowledge in engine repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  4. Ability to use mechanic tools and diagnostic equipment.
  5. Minimum 6 months - 2 years of experience in a similar role
  6. Physically fit and able to handle manual/technical work.
  7. Good communication and teamwork skills.
  8. Strong technical knowledge and expertise in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of machinery and equipment
  9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
  10. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure optimal equipment performance
  11. Commitment to safety and a track record of maintaining a safe working environment
