Business Data Analyst

Job Objective

1.

To support the Portfolio Management Team by generating reports and analyzing both internal and external data to provide actionable insights that guide business decisions and improve operational efficiency.

2.

This role ensures the integrity of data and the timeliness of availability of the dashboard and provides ad hoc data requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis and Reporting

• Collect, clean, organize data sets, and analyze internal and external data to identify and validate trends and gather actionable insights.

• Generate regular and ad hoc reports to support portfolio performance reviews and strategic decision-making.

• Translate complex data sets into clear, concise visualizations and summaries for stakeholders.

1. Dashboard Management

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.

• Ensure timely updates with accurate, validated data.

• Optimize dashboard performance and usability based on user feedback.

1. Data Integrity, Quality Assurance, and Collaboration

• Validate data sources and ensure consistency and accuracy across all reporting outputs in collaboration with IT and Finance.

• Implement data quality checks and reconciliation processes to maintain high standards of data integrity

1. Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with Portfolio managers, business leaders, and analysts to understand data needs and communicate insights effectively.

• 
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams, business unit,s and IQVIA to align data initiatives. Continuously enhance reporting processes through automation, stay current with analytics trends and tools, and contribute to data governance and documentation efforts

• Market Survey and Insight

• Support Portfolio Managers and business leaders in gathering insights from internal or external surveys and from other data sources.

• Act as the primary liaison between third-party partners, internal teams, and business stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, clear communication, and timely delivery of results and reports.

6.Act as the primary contact for the internal pricing database, ensuring accessibility and accuracy of data required by other departments.

7.Other task that may be required to support the team in managing their respective portfolio.

A. FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

1. Proficiency in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for dashboard creation and data visualization.

2. Ability to translate technical findings into business-friendly language.

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams.

4. Has understanding of statistical methods and data interpretation techniques.

5. Has ability to derive insights from quantitative and qualitative data sources.

B. BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE

1. At least 5 years experience in retail, manufacturing or distribution company managing business/ data analytics on sales reporting, market data analysis and other similar reports

2. Experience in Pharmaceutical industry is a plus.

3. Preferably with knowledge of survey methodologies, sampling techniques, and questionnaire design and experience in analyzing survey results to extract actionable insights.

D. PLANNING

1. Planning for this role involves establishing a clear objective, defining the data needs and create a reporting strategy, including dashboard design, survey scheduling, and stakeholder communication protocols. It also requires setting up data governance practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all sources. Lastly, the role should include continuous process improvement through automation and performance monitoring to enhance efficiency and insight delivery.

2. This role involves cross-functional collaboration and external coordination to be able to deliver the key expected output.

E. AREA OF IMPACT

1. The outputs from this role will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency within the Trade Portfolio team by streamlining data access and reporting. This enables managers to shift their focus from manual data gathering to strategic decision-making, ultimately accelerating response times and improving business outcomes. The enhanced data visibility and actionable insights will also foster better cross-functional collaboration and more informed portfolio management.

F. PROBLEM SOLVING

1. Multiple data points and manual reports require thorough validation to ensure accuracy and consistency. Category classifications are currently undefined and subject to ongoing changes, necessitating a structured approach to define and evolve them over time. Additionally, historical data may need to be realigned with current systems to maintain continuity and support reliable analysis.

G. DECISION MAKING

1. This role supports data-driven decision-making by validating data, designing effective dashboards, planning surveys, and improving reporting processes. It involves operational decisions on data quality, tool usage, stakeholder coordination, and classification standards. While not making strategic business decisions directly, the role enables leadership to make informed choices by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable insights.

H. ACCOUNTABILITY FOR RESOURCES

1. He will be accountable for the usage of Power BI and its maintenance in collaboration with IT.

This is an individual contributor role that requires proactive self-development, particularly in learning new tools and technologies. Business acumen will be cultivated through close collaboration with Portfolio Managers and Business Leaders. The individual will be actively involved in business discussions to gain a deep understanding of operations and the key drivers of decision-making.
