Position Title: Houseparent / Utility

Department: Elderly Care / Home Operations

Reports To: Home Administrator / Head of Care

Position Summary

The Houseparent / Utility Worker provides day-to-day support to elderly residents by ensuring a clean, safe, and caring home environment. The role combines caregiving assistance, housekeeping, and general utility work to promote the comfort, well-being, and dignity of residents.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Care & Support

  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as eating, walking, toileting, and personal hygiene (if needed).
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and foster a family-like atmosphere in the Home.
  • Monitor residents' needs and promptly report health or behavioral concerns to the Nurse or Supervisor.
  • Accompany residents during recreational, social, or spiritual activities inside the Home.

Housekeeping & Utility Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of residents' rooms, common areas, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize residents' laundry, bed linens, and clothing.
  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and drinks as scheduled, following dietary restrictions if any.
  • Dispose of garbage properly and ensure sanitation practices are observed.
  • Perform minor repairs, simple maintenance tasks, and assist in the upkeep of the facilities.
  • Ensure supplies (cleaning materials, toiletries, laundry items) are properly stocked and accounted for.

Safety & Compliance

  • Observe safety procedures in handling elderly residents, equipment, and cleaning agents.
  • Assist in implementing health and safety protocols, including emergency drills and infection control measures.
  • Protect the confidentiality and dignity of all residents.

Qualifications

  • At least High School graduate (TESDA caregiving or housekeeping training is an advantage).
  • Experience in caregiving, housekeeping, or related work preferred.
  • Physically fit and willing to perform tasks that require lifting or extended standing.
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to work with elderly individuals.
  • Flexible and willing to perform multiple roles (caregiving, cleaning, cooking, utility).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Php695.00 per day
