We are seeking an experienced 3D Tekla Steel Detailer or 3D Advanced Steel Detailer for our Australian client. The role is 100% home-based, fully employed with a great salary and benefits.

Our client, based in Australia, is looking for an experienced 3D Structural Steel Detailer with previous Australian Structural Steel experience ideally on large scale commercial building projects. You will report directly to the Design Manager based in Australia and will be an extension of their team.

Our Client

Our client is an award-winning family business that fabricates structural steel for large commercial projects.  They employ over 30 people and have offices and fabrication facilities across Victoria.

The Opportunity:

As an experienced 3D Structural Steel Detailer with Tekla or Advanced Steel you will be responsible for providing technically accurate 3D drawings for steel structures, using Advanced Steel or Tekla. You will be required to identify inconsistencies and errors between architectural and structural designs / specifications and provide alternate design options when required.

About you:

YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUS TEKLA OR ADVANCED STEEL 3D DETAILING EXPERIENCE FOR AUSTRALIAN PROJECTS.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a 3D Structural Steel Detailer, using Tekla Structures OR Advanced Steel
  • Australian commercial experience is essential
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Excellent working knowledge of steel fabrication techniques and construction methods
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot design issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is highly desirable
  • You will be able to provide examples of your 3D drawings.
