Head of Finance

Purpose & Objective of the Role

Lead, develop, and support the Finance function in the country as a strategic business partner to enable the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance & Ethics

  • Lead, implement, and review processes and practices that ensure high standards of governance, accuracy, and compliance with both internal standards and external legal regulations.

Finance Process Leadership & Management

  • Act as a business partner by reviewing country trends, triggers, and levers to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making across people, commercial, and operational functions.
  • Represent the country in the development and implementation of regional and global reporting tools, guidelines, and standards—ensuring alignment with local regulations.
  • Implement standardized and integrated financial processes and templates aligned with global frameworks and external regulations.
  • Establish effective procedures to monitor, validate, and control data quality across finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Lead and manage the
    Annual Budget
    ,
    Corporate Tax Filing
    , and
    Annual Audit
    for the country.
  • Oversee and analyze the
    Month-End Closing
    and
    P&L reporting
    processes.
  • Ensure smooth management of financial workflows.
  • Monitor and manage
    cash flow
    , including working capital, DSO, and DPO.
  • Serve as custodian for financial authorization limits across all processes.
  • Stay abreast of internal and external trends that may impact the finance function or overall business operations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as auditors, legal advisors, and tax consultants.
  • Serve as the
    Corporate Treasurer
    for the legal entity.

Leadership & People Development

  • Act as an ambassador of company values and initiatives.
  • Engage, motivate, and develop members of the finance team to ensure high performance and retention.
  • Provide consistent, constructive feedback and career development guidance.
  • Foster a fair, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.

Key Requirements

  • Experience:
    7–10 years in Finance, preferably within the Freight Forwarding industry.
  • Leadership:
    At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with
    Sun Accounting System
    (required);
    CargoWise
    experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in
    MS Office tools
    , especially
    Excel
    .
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and independent working style.
  • Effective team leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
