Job Summary:

The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen staff in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations. This role involves assisting with food prep, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, managing inventory, and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables and fruits.
  • Measure and mix ingredients as directed by recipes.
  • Assist in cooking tasks as directed by the head chef.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Dispose of trash and waste in a sanitary manner.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the kitchen manager or chef.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and kitchen equipment.
  • Operate dishwashing machinery to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Ensure all dishes and kitchen equipment are clean and ready for use.
  • Assist kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure efficient service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.

Qualifications:

 High school diploma or equivalent.

 Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.

 Basic understanding of food safety practices.

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 Strong attention to detail.

 Good communication and teamwork skills.

 Willingness to learn and take direction.

 Willing to assign in Busuanga Palawan
