Job Summary:
The Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items in accordance with established recipes, menus, and quality standards. This role ensures food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen while supporting the overall dining experience of guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes, menus, and portion standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all ingredients and food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and work areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation before serving.
- Assist in inventory management by reporting shortages or excess supplies.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Comply with company policies, health, and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is an advantage.
- Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
