This job involves creating technical plans, overseeing manufacturing, and ensuring products meet performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness standards. They use tools such as CAD software for design and analysis and collaborate with other teams to bring concepts to a finished, functional product.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and development: Research, design, and develop new mechanical and thermal devices or redesign existing ones to solve problems. This includes using computer-aided design (CAD) and performing simulations.
  • Analysis and testing: Analyze mechanical and thermal devices to assess performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements. They also develop and test prototypes to analyze test results and make design changes.
  • Fabrication and installation: Oversee the fabrication process to ensure quality control, and establish standards for installation, maintenance, and inspection.
  • Project management: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources. They work on project teams to ensure projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with other professionals like electrical engineers, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet all requirements.
  • Maintenance: Inspect and direct the maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, and other installations to ensure they are performing optimally.
  • Feasibility and cost assessment: Study the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of their designs to ensure they are sustainable and cost-effective.

What We"ll Love About You:

  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least minimum 1 year of solid design experience in similar capacity
  • English Proficiency is a must
  • Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) is a plus
  • Designing HVAC systems
  • Knowledge in Camel program or other HVAC load estimating software
  • Knowledge in pumps, fans and HVAC equipment sizing and selections
  • Able to do pressure drop calculations for both air and water side of a HVAC system
  • Knowledge in both chilled water, heating hot water, DX and VRF systems
  • Knowledge in BMS or BMSC.
  • HVAC design engineers create heating and cooling systems and their controls
  • Calculate Heating and Cooling needs
  • Make load calculations to determine how much heating and cooling power various equipment must put out in order to hear or cool spaces when needed.
  • Interpret and draft plans
  • Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints for new constructions projects. They also draft new plans to design ductwork and piping systems.
  • Calculate Ventilation requirements
  • Adhere to All Building Cods
  • Knowledge in ANZ codes and standards
  • AutoCAD, and REVIT software is required.
