About the Role:

The Business Development Officer is responsible for preparing tenders, proposals, pricing inputs, presentations and marketing content. This role requires someone who can independently work on key deliverables while following the guidance, review, and direction of the Business Development Team Leader and Business Development Manager. The Officer will handle day-to-day tender and marketing tasks, ensuring outputs are accurate, well-presented, and delivered on time. This position suits someone with strong attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Prepare tender responses, proposals, presentations and supporting documents with oversight from the Team Leader.
  • Conduct daily tender opportunity checks and take responsibility for downloading documents, organising requirements, and coordinating site inspections or briefings.
  • Work on internal pricing and labour cost analysis as required for each submission.
  • Maintain and update tender templates, Q&A libraries, Business Development trackers, and contract registers.
  • Lead marketing tasks such as creating LinkedIn content, EDMs, newsletters, and marketing calendar items under the Team Leader's direction.
  • Prepare simple quotes, follow up on submissions, and complete general business development administrative tasks.
  • Support transition documentation and reporting requirements for newly awarded contracts.
  • Perform additional ad hoc tasks assigned by the Team Leader, Business Development Manager, or other departments as required.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in tender/proposal writing, business development, marketing, or similar administrative roles.
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing structured and accurate documents.
  • Experience producing marketing content such as LinkedIn posts, EDMs, newsletters, or similar materials.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to understand basic contract requirements, scopes of work, and assist with pricing or labour costing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when coordinating with internal teams or clients.
  • Ability to work independently while following direction and guidance from the Business Development Team Leader.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience working with Australian clients and/or within the cleaning or facilities management industry is an advantage but not required.
