About the Role:
The Business Development Team Leader oversees the Business Development team while also directly preparing tenders, proposals, pricing assessments, presentations and marketing deliverables. The role requires hands-on involvement in all major business development tasks, ensuring that every submission or document produced by the team is accurate, compliant, and of a high standard. The Team Leader provides guidance, allocates work, reviews outputs, and ensures the smooth operation of all tender and marketing activities, while supporting strategic initiatives set by senior management.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Lead, mentor, and quality-check the work of the business development team across tenders, proposals, pricing, presentations and marketing deliverables.
- Manage the full tender lifecycle including planning, writing, pricing coordination, compliance review, and submission.
- Prepare high-level tender responses, proposals, presentations, labour cost assessments, and service agreements.
- Review all team work to ensure accuracy, alignment, and consistency before submission.
- Conduct regular training sessions to improve team capability in tender writing and marketing tasks.
- Manage business development trackers, weekly reports, contract registers, KPI extractions, and transition documentation.
- Lead marketing initiatives such as LinkedIn posting, annual calendars, EDMs, newsletters, and digital content.
- Coordinate with internal departments and support client follow-ups and business development campaigns.
- Undertake strategic and ad hoc tasks assigned by senior management or required by business needs.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in tender/proposal writing, business development, marketing, or a similar role.
- Proven capability in preparing high-quality, compliant, and detailed tender submissions and proposals.
- Experience producing and overseeing marketing content such as LinkedIn posts, EDMs, newsletters, and campaign materials.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to lead deadlines across multiple simultaneous tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to interpret complex contract requirements, scopes of work, and oversee pricing or labour costing inputs.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in coordinating across departments and guiding team members.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including reviewing work accuracy, providing direction, and mentoring junior staff.
- A proactive, solution-driven mindset with a strong level of independence and judgement.
- Previous experience working with Australian clients and/or within the cleaning or facilities management industry is an advantage but not required.
