In this role, you will be key to the bank's growth by building strong relationships with clients. Your responsibilities include setting up new accounts, managing loan portfolios, supporting various banking departments, and ensuring effective account management. You will monitor and address potential risks in client accounts, negotiate solutions for problem accounts, and guide Account Associates in handling daily client needs. Your goal is to increase the bank's profits through loans, fees, and deposits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively seek and develop new bank relationships, managing them to align with the bank's strategic goals, and focus on increasing deposits for better asset returns while complying with regulations.
  • Consistently generate revenue by ensuring account relationships are profitable, distributing targets among managers effectively, and meeting return on capital employed (ROCE) goals.
  • Continuously monitor asset quality, report potential problems, and be selective in account solicitation to keep credit risk within acceptable levels.
  • Regularly interact with clients to strengthen relationships, address their requests and complaints promptly, and ensure timely completion and rectification of account documentation.
  • Adhere to anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations, including reviewing transaction alerts and maintaining proper record keeping as per regulatory standards.
  • Provide leadership by inspiring and training team members, developing career plans, implementing succession planning, and ensuring staff compliance with AML training requirements.

What we're looking for

  • College graduate, preferably a degree in Business/Management/Marketing, Commerce, Economics, or Finance/Accounting/Banking with a strong finance or marketing background
  • Preferably 2 years as a Relationship Manager in commercial and or corporate lending with another similar sized or bigger bank.
  • Knows banking products and industry, Marketing, Data Analysis, Financial Monitoring and Reporting, Research, and Risk Management.
  • For more senior RMs with ranks of SM and above, exposure to project finance lending is a critical advantage.
  • Analytical and understand critical business and industry information that will influence credit decisions.
  • Highly personable and able to manage relationships, especially in resolving internal and client conflicts and issues.
  • Articulate and proficient in both oral and written English.
  • Able to win the trust and confidence of clients.
  • Good team player and able to liaise with internal units in the delivery of services to clients.
  • Has good time management skills and can work under pressure to deliver client requirements.
