About the Role - Manila, Philippines

  • This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Finance Director.
  • The idea candidate should come with strong controllership expertise and a certified accountancy qualification.
  • Ideally from similar industry nature, such as media, entertainment, creative, digital content, advertising, lifestyle companies, as well as other sectors, who bring strong controllership expertise and a certified accountancy qualification.
  • You will be responsible for financial governance, reporting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

Controllership & Financial Governance

  • Oversee financial controls, ensuring adherence to IFRS, local accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Lead statutory reporting, VAT, corporate income tax, and other regulatory filings accurately and on time.
  • Manage tax, statutory, and internal audits, ensuring thorough documentation and risk mitigation.
  • Strengthen internal controls, implement process improvements, and safeguard company assets.
  • Maintain an up-to-date compliance program, performing periodic walkthroughs to test effectiveness.

Strategic Finance Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing insights and financial guidance.
  • Mentor business teams to enhance financial literacy, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Support project analysis, deal evaluation, and strategic initiatives with robust financial modeling.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Partner with the Finance Director to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.
  • Lead month-end close, forecast submissions, and annual budgeting.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements, management reporting packs, and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Collaborate with regional teams on reporting, analysis, and process improvements.

Process Improvement & Systems Enhancement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve decision-making tools.
  • Support finance transformation projects and ERP/financial system enhancements (SAP, HFM, Hyperion preferred but not mandatory).

Requirements

  • Certified Accountant, CPA, ACCA, or CA, equivalent accountancy qualification (mandatory).
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with strong controllership and financial reporting expertise.
  • Experience in industries such as music, media, entertainment, digital content, advertising, lifestyle, or related sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS, local tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Strong business partnering mindset, able to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in ERP/financial systems (e.g. SAP, HFM, Hyperion has a added advantages but not a must have).
