Job Objective

The Strategic Planning Manager leads research, data analysis, and business planning activities that support the company's growth in the financing industry. The role provides insights on market trends, customer borrowing behavior, product performance, and competitive movements, enabling the company to make informed decisions on product development, risk strategies, pricing, and operational improvements.


Key Responsibilities
1. Industry & Market Research
  • Conduct studies on financing industry trends, customer credit behavior, borrower segments (e.g., employed, OFW, self-employed), and emerging market needs.
  • Analyze competitor loan products, pricing strategies, service models, and digital lending trends.
  • Monitor regulatory updates in the financing sector (BSP, SEC, DTI, Data Privacy, etc.) to support compliance and policy alignment.
  • Prepare market intelligence reports for management.

2. Product & Business Strategy Development
  • Support the enhancement or development of loan products by analyzing market demand, customer profiles, pricing, terms, and competitor positioning.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and business cases for new loan programs, process improvements, or strategic initiatives.
  • Assess product performance and recommend improvements based on data, customer feedback, and operational insights.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to strengthen the company's competitive advantage in the financing market.

3. Data Analytics & Portfolio Performance Monitoring
  • Analyze portfolio performance indicators such as approval rates, conversion, loan releases, repayment trends, and delinquency.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and operational gaps through data-driven insights.
  • Develop dashboards, KPI sheets, and performance scorecards for management review.
  • Support credit risk management by providing insights on borrower profiles, credit patterns, and market behavior.

4. Strategic Planning & Forecasting
  • Assist in creating annual business plans, financial projections, and portfolio growth targets.
  • Prepare market forecasts and borrower demand projections based on historical data and industry trends.
  • Monitor execution of strategic initiatives and evaluate performance against set objectives.
  • Prepare strategic presentations, briefings, and updates for senior management.

5. Customer & Channel Research
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and loan journey studies to understand customer borrowing needs, satisfaction levels, and pain points.
  • Analyze performance of lending channels (branches, digital applications, partner networks) to identify opportunities for growth or process enhancement.
  • Develop insights that guide improvements in customer experience, loan application efficiency, and client retention.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, Credit, and Operations to gather insights, validate strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with Risk Management on borrower profiles, market changes, and credit trends.
  • Collaborate with IT and Systems Development to support digital initiatives, data availability, and automation efforts.
  • Validate research and analytical findings with key stakeholders before presenting recommendations.

7. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare research reports, business case proposals, product analysis documents, and strategy papers for management.
  • Maintain updated files on market studies, competitive research, and industry insights.
  • Ensure that strategy recommendations comply with regulatory standards and internal policies.

8. Other Related Tasks
  • Perform other tasks related to research, strategic planning, and business analysis as required by management.
