About the role

Join the dynamic legal team at Manila Water Company, Inc. as a full-time Legal Counsel. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance and support to ensure the company's compliance with relevant regulations and laws. Working from our Makati City, Metro Manila office, you will play a key part in upholding the company's commitment to ethical and transparent operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Advises and represents the company before government agencies, such as regulators, judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, and legislative bodies
  • Supports the business in managing and mitigating legal, regulatory, and commercial risks and assist in implementing solutions and compliance
  • Drafts, reviews and assists in the negotiation of contracts and other legal documents ensuring always that the interest of the business is amply protected

What we're looking for

  • Licensed lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a publicly listed company
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, particularly within the utilities or infrastructure sectors
  • Excellent understanding of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide pragmatic, commercial legal advice
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborative approach with a proven ability to work effectively in a team
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions is a plus
