The Mechanic/Driver is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of company vehicles, generator sets (gensets), and mechanical equipment. The role ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Assist in coordinating outsourced repairs when necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of repair work, parts used, and maintenance schedules.

Generator Set (Genset) Servicing

  • Conduct routine servicing and troubleshooting of gensets.
  • Support complex repairs in coordination with technicians or manufacturer teams.
  • Document genset condition, repairs, and performance data.

Fuel Consumption Support

  • Assist in monitoring fuel usage across vehicles and equipment.
  • Report unusual fuel consumption patterns and identify possible mechanical causes.

Driver & User Support

  • Provide basic orientation to drivers regarding proper vehicle care and daily checks.
  • Respond to internal inquiries related to vehicle or equipment condition.

Workshop, Tools & Inventory Management

  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safekeeping of tools and workshop equipment.
  • Report low stock or required spare parts to supervisors/Procurement.

Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Follow safety standards, use PPE, and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Perform quality checks and test drives after repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a Technical/Vocational Course or Diploma in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field.
  • With 4 years of solid experience as a mechanic in automotive or generator maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, engines, and basic generator set mechanics.
  • Ability to operate various types of motor vehicles (with a valid driver's license).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with team members and employees at all levels.
  • Results-oriented, reliable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
