Summary of the Position:

The Technical Training Officer plays a vital role in developing, designing and delivering comprehensive training programs aimed at strengthening the product knowledge, technical proficiency, and sales capabilities of Sales Associates and Appraisers. This position ensures that all frontliners are well-equipped to provide accurate, professional, and customer-focused service consistent with the company's standards and brand values.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and delivers comprehensive technical and product training programs that equip employees with in-depth understanding of gemstones, diamonds, precious metals, jewelry types, production processes, and appraisal methods.
  • Facilitates technical side training programs and possible workshops for new hires to equip them with technical knowledge prior to store branch deployment.
  • Together with the lead of the Human Resources Head,  creates  comprehensive and engaging training resources such as modules, manuals, instructional videos, and visual aids to support knowledge retention and skill development.
  • Coordinates with the Senior Store Operations Manager, DPS Operations Manager, and HR Team to ensure that all training initiatives are aligned with the company's overall business objectives and sales performance goals.
  • Facilitates training sessions for Appraisers focused on jewelry grading, authenticity validation, and accurate valuation practices.
  • Facilitates practical assessments and skill tests to maintain accuracy and consistency in jewelry grading and appraisal. The result will be used in continuous performance evaluation, promotions and training development.

  • Provides regular updates on the emerging trends & methodologies in terms of appraisal and authentication, coordinating closely with the operations manager before cascading across the sales/dps team.

  • Assess the training needs of sales and appraisal teams through performance evaluations, customer feedback, and sales results to be provided by their respective immediate heads.

  • Recommend refresher or advanced training sessions based on performance gaps and quality assessments based on the recommendation of the respective operations manager..
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new product lines, and competitor offerings to keep training content relevant and competitive.
  • Maintain accurate training records and evaluation results. Document all training related materials both soft and hard copy.
  • Prepare training progress reports and recommend development plans to to HR Head
  • Ensure all training programs comply with company standards (Miladay way) and existing brand guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Any 4 year degree course
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in training, Jewelry/Pawnshop retail operations, or jewelry appraisal/sales.
  • Strong knowledge of jewelry products, diamonds, gemstones, metals, and valuation methods.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Skilled in creating training materials and using multimedia tools for learning delivery.

  • Certification in Training and Development, Sales Coaching, or Gemology is an advantage but not required.

  • Based at Head Office with frequent store visits and field training.

  • May involve handling of jewelry items and tools for demonstration purposes.
