JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Azure Cloud Architect will manage the Firm's cloud engineering and position in cloud environments. He/she will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform system administration functions including monitoring system and network performance, troubleshooting system problems, maintaining user accounts and various tracking systems, and liaising with other institutional information system and information technology groups;
  2. Actively manage cloud accounts (Azure) and make recommendations on how best to support our infrastructure and interact with Developers and Architects in cross-functional areas;
  3. Participate in the creation of the overall multi-year cloud road map and strategy;
  4. Work with internal teams and several third-party vendors in big data and other areas to support our overall cloud initiatives;
  5. Continually look at emerging cloud technologies and assess whether they are the right fit with the organization, with emphasis on creating cost savings and/or value-creation opportunities;
  6. Ensure capacity planning is reviewed on a regular basis;
  7. Redesign or refresh existing solutions to realign and meet our ever-changing business needs;
  8. Own IT Engineering projects and ensure that the solutions are delivered in a timely manner within the resource, budgetary and timeframe requirements.
  9. Involvement in client-facing responsibilities as part of their job duties.
  10. Providing technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring that frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) and requirements are met.
  11. Involvement in direct interaction with clients, including managing client relationships, addressing client inquiries, and participating in client meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field;
  2. 2-7 years of systems administration or cloud engineering experience;
  3. Experience with Azure (Microsoft) cloud platform is a must;
  4. Ability to work with Virtualization Technology;
  5. Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS and Firewall);
  6. Ability to translate architectural requirement;
  7. Ability to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available and fault tolerant system;
  8. Capability to select the appropriate services based on compute data or security requirements;
  9. Ability to estimate usage cost and identify operational cost control mechanism;
  10. Capability to migrate on-premises servers to cloud.
