The
Planning Manager
is responsible for leading the overall planning and scheduling functions of the
MTerra Solar Project
, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. The role oversees the development, integration, and control of project schedules to drive efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time delivery of key project milestones. This position requires strong coordination with cross-functional leaders including project management, supply chain, construction, and commercial teams to maintain transparency, consistency, and accuracy in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
· Lead the development, implementation, and management of the master integrated project schedule using Primavera P6 or equivalent software.
· Oversee and validate schedules prepared by planners, subcontractors, and EPC partners to ensure consistency with the project baseline and key deliverables.
· Establish planning procedures, reporting templates, and progress measurement systems for all project phases.
· Perform regular schedule health checks, critical path, and resource analysis to identify potential delays and develop recovery plans.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
· Monitor progress against baseline schedules and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as SPI, CPI, and milestone variance.
· Present schedule updates and risk assessments to senior management and project stakeholders during periodic progress reviews.
· Consolidate progress inputs from engineering, procurement, and construction teams for accurate forecasting and reporting.
Coordination & Leadership
· Lead and mentor a team of project planners and schedulers, ensuring quality and consistency in planning deliverables.
· Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, supply chain, and contractors to ensure synchronized execution of project activities.
· Facilitate planning workshops and alignment meetings to establish and maintain integrated project plans.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
· Identify schedule-related risks and propose mitigation strategies to maintain overall project timeline integrity.
· Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing project sequencing and resource allocation.
· Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
· At least 10 years of relevant experience in project planning and control, including 5 years in a managerial or lead planner capacity.
· Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects (solar farms, transmission lines, substations preferred).
· Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and other project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Power BI).
· Strong understanding of EPC project execution, resource loading, and performance measurement systems.
· Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
. Willing to accept a project-based employment status and travel as required.
· Willing to be based in Gapan, Nueva Ecija for the duration of the project.
· Familiarity with SCADA systems, protection relays, and automation protocols is a strong advantage.
· Willing to be based on-site and lead field activities through energization and turnover.
