Accountant/Bookkeeper

Job Summary:
- We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial transactions and long-term financial reporting. This role combines traditional bookkeeping duties such as reconciliation and ledger maintenancewith higher-level accounting tasks including financial analysis, budgeting, tax preparation/submission and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Financial Management:
- Record all financial transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments) in a timely and accurate manner
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts on a regular basis
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain and balance the general ledger
- Manage employee expense reports
- Manage the processing of Purchase Orders and Sales Invoices.
Accounting and Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist in budget planning and monitor actual vs. budgeted performance
- Manage tax reporting and compliance (sales tax, VAT, corporate tax, etc.)
- Maintain internal controls and ensure proper documentation of financial procedures
- Generate financial reports to support business planning and decision-making
- Understand and ensure compliance with applicable global tax laws and assist in tax preparation and submission. (eg Avalara)
- Annual business tax return preparation and submission particularly USA
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper and/or accountant
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero)
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Experienced in compiling and submitting annual tax documentation for businesses
- Able to work autonomously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Familiarity with international tax laws and financial regulations particularly USA
Work Conditions:
