A Mechanical Equipment Management Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, utilization, maintenance, and lifecycle management of mechanical equipment used in construction projects or plant operations.

Detailed Job Description

  • Equipment Planning & Allocation – Assess project requirements, prepare equipment deployment plans, and ensure optimal utilization of construction machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintenance Management – Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment service life.
  • Equipment Monitoring – Track performance, fuel consumption, and operating hours through logs, reports, or monitoring systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
  • Inventory & Asset Control – Manage records of equipment availability, parts inventory, repair history, and ensure accuracy of documentation.
  • Coordination & Supervision – Coordinate with site engineers, operators, and mechanics to address equipment needs and resolve technical issues.
  • Compliance & Safety – Ensure all mechanical equipment adheres to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Cost & Budget Control – Monitor expenses related to repairs, rentals, and operations; recommend cost-saving strategies.
  • Reporting – Prepare regular reports on equipment performance, downtime, and utilization for management decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer (preferred).
  • Experience in heavy equipment and construction machinery management.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, or equipment management software.
  • Good leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
