Position Summary
The Communication Skills Trainer is responsible for delivering training programs that strengthen verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills of newly hired and existing healthcare associates. This role ensures associates communicate confidently and professionally with patients, insurance providers, and service partners across phone, email, and chat, aligning communication quality with client expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery and Facilitation
- Conduct classroom and virtual training sessions focused on communication fundamentals, active listening, empathy, call handling, email etiquette, and chat professionalism
- Customize learning sessions to meet role-specific communication needs (e.g., Intake, VOB, CSR, A/R, Billing)
- Demonstrate best practices through live examples, simulations, role-plays, and real-time feedback
Curriculum and Material Development
- Collaborate with instructional designers and process trainers to integrate communication objectives into role-based learning paths
- Develop training decks, learner handouts, evaluation rubrics, and feedback forms
- Continuously refine training materials based on learner performance and client feedback
Training Assessment and Support
- Assess communication skills through graded role-plays, mock calls, email/chat writing exercises, and facilitated discussions
- Provide timely coaching and constructive feedback tailored to individual development needs
- Identify trainees requiring additional support and coordinate coaching or remediation with the Training Supervisor
Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of trainee attendance, performance evaluations, and training completion
- Submit end-of-day reports, training summaries, and post-training evaluations
- Track recurring communication gaps across training batches and recommend curriculum improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned to support training and development initiatives
QualificationsRequired:
- At least 2–3 years of experience delivering communication or soft-skills training in a corporate, BPO, or healthcare outsourcing environment
- Strong command of spoken and written English
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to develop individuals with varying communication skill levels
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, English, ESL, or a related field
- Familiarity with healthcare communication scenarios (patient interactions, insurance follow-ups, provider inquiries)
- Experience using LMS platforms and content authoring tools such as PowerPoint or Articulate 360
