To provide prescribed care to patients in an inpatient care unit, basic housekeeping duties in order to deliver clean, tidy and comfortable surroundings of the area assigned and to assist errands for Staff Nurses and patients in delivering care under the direction and supervision of the immediate superior.

Private Duties and Responsibilities

The position holder shall undertake the following instructions:

  • Receives and endorses inventory of equipment, pending procedures and send-out matters, patient's special endorsement thru a record logbook and performs daily rounds with the outgoing Nurse Attendant

  • Assists patients in admission/ discharge and transfer to another department. Transports patients within the hospital units for diagnostic or treatment purposes.

  • Responds to requests for personal services, such as filling water containers, making mechanical adjustments of bed and aiding in changing position in bed.

  • Assists patient with locomotion and physical activities using proper body mechanics.

  • Adheres to practices in accordance with nursing laws and other relevant legislation and to established quality, environmental, health and safety policies.

  • Performs other related functions as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Education

Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience

Preferably with working experience of at least 1 year clinical practicum in assistive nursing
