As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of optical network systems. Your expertise will ensure reliable service delivery, resolve escalations, and contribute to the evolution of critical telecommunications infrastructure.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Responsibilities of the Network Engineer – Optical include:
  • Design and implement Optical network infrastructure.

Key Deliverables:

  • Configure, stage, and build network devices for installation into Superloop POPs within agreed timelines.
  • Migrate existing services onto newly installed infrastructure within agreed timelines.
  • Plan and scope complex network projects and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular network reviews to proactively identify maintenance or upgrade needs.
  • Implement all changes following Superloop's change process and Network Engineering MOP guidelines.
  • Work with network vendors on device-related issues.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on network service issues.
  • Acknowledge and resolve support tickets escalated to Network Engineering promptly.
  • Provide engineering support to NOC, Presales, and Provisioning teams within internal response times.
  • Ensure all required network documentation and inventory are created and consistently updated.
  • Complete all assigned tasks and projects within agreed timelines, meeting project milestones and goals.
  • Participate in the Network Engineering 24x7 on-call roster system.
  • Maintain strong internal relationships with Network Operations, Service Delivery, Network Provisioning, Presales, Products, Sales, and Commercial teams.
  • Respond effectively across all SLC communication platforms.
  • Promote and participate in a learning environment to support team upskilling.
  • Complete company cybersecurity training.
  • Complete company workplace health and safety training.
  • Proactively monitor Optical network performance.
  • Troubleshoot network faults and resolve escalated Optical network issues.
  • Adhere to all network security standards.
  • Manage and maintain Optical network documentation and inventory.
  • Collaborate with other business units where required.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Adhere to all company policies.

The Qualifications We Seek

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, operations, and maintenance of coherent muxponders, fixed grid multiplexers, ROADMs, optical protection switches, EDFA line amplifiers, and submarine line terminal equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of DWDM, ROADMs, coherent modulation, and network automation
  • Experience working with long-haul, metro, and subsea transmission systems
  • Familiarity with vendor platforms such as Ciena, Cisco, and PacketLight
  • Ability to interpret link budgets, optical power levels, and OSNR thresholds
  • Scripting or automation experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance optimization skills
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration with NOC, project managers, and field teams

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php100, Php150,000.00 per month
