Role Purpose The Procurement Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for executing sourcing activities for feed mill RM, PM, and assigned indirect categories. The role independently manages RFQs, evaluates supplier capabilities, conducts commercial assessments, coordinates technical validation with TRD/QA, and prepares complete sourcing documentation. While operating with guidance from the Senior Procurement Manager, this role ensures competitiveness, compliance, and accurate category support across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities Sourcing & Supplier Management


• Conduct RFQs/RFPs and perform initial commercial evaluations.


• Support category strategy execution for feedmill RM, PM, and assigned indirect categories.


• Coordinate sampling, product evaluation, and suitability testing with TRD/QA.


• Perform supplier capability assessments, compliance checks, and documentation review.


• Coordinate contract finalization with Legal and ensure alignment on pricing, specification & / or scope of work, and SLAs with budget owners and Operations, escalating to the Senior Procurement Manager if required.


• Update and communicate approved pricing changes, maintain cost sheets, and ensure category documentation reflects the latest negotiated terms.


• Identify potential new suppliers and assist in preliminary research and cost benchmarks.


• Prepare commercial recommendations for assigned RFQs and PRs in line with the Delegation of Authority (DOA), escalating to the Senior Procurement Manager for final review.

Category & Documentation Support


• Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, quotes & evaluation sheets, and supplier files.


• Use supplier performance data (delivery, quality & SLAs) provided by the Procurement Administrator.


• Prepare category summaries, cost analyses, and supplier comparison matrices.

Cross-Functional Coordination


• Work with TRD/QA for technical testing and material acceptance.


• Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Finance as needed.


• Ensure category-related information is clearly communicated across relevant teams.

Governance & Compliance


• Follow procurement policies, RFQ rules, documentation standards, and approval workflows.


• Maintain integrity and confidentiality in all procurement dealings.
• Ensure audit-ready documentation at all times.

Ethics & Integrity


• Demonstrates strong integrity, fairness, and professionalism in all supplier interactions.


• Ensures transparency, accuracy, and compliance in every step of the sourcing process.

Operational Continuity Support


• Provide operational support on essential procurement documentation and administrative tasks when required, ensuring workflow continuity during absences or urgent situations.

Experience Requirements


• 2–5 years procurement, supply chain, or technical buying experience preferred


• Experience with feedmill RM/PM or manufacturing materials is an advantage


• Exposure to category sourcing or supplier evaluation is beneficial


• Familiarity with ERP/PR-PO processes is a plus
