About the role

Direction is seeking a talented Associate Accountant to join our team in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila. As an Associate Accountant, you will play a crucial role in preparation of financial reports and tax returns for our client, an Australian Accounting firm. This is a full-time position that offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and analysing financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions

  • Performing reconciliations and review of data to maintain the integrity of financial records

  • Assisting with the preparation of tax returns, Business Activity Statements and other regulatory documents

  • Data entry to common software systems such as Quickbooks Online and Xero

  • Payroll preparation for small business clients.

  • Providing support to the client's management team

  • Collaborating with other team members on varied and interesting accounting related tasks

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

  • At least 2 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in an Australian firm.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero, and MYOB as well as spreadsheet applications

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic knowledge of Australian taxation regulations and compliance requirements
