About the role

Direction is seeking a talented Accountant to join our team in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila. As an Associate Accountant, you will play a crucial role in preparation of financial reports and tax returns for our Australian client's firm. This is a full-time position that offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and analysing financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
  • Performing reconciliations, processing and review of data to maintain the integrity of financial records
  • Preparation of tax returns and other regulatory documents
  • Providing support and supervision to our client's team
  • Collaborating with other team members on varied and interesting accounting related tasks

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 2 years experience as an Accountant with an Australian Accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Tax Legislation and Accounting concepts.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks as well as spreadsheet applications
  • Preferred Experience using Handisoft suite of products
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
  • Experience in processing payroll
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of Australian taxation regulations and compliance requirements
