Are you an experienced tax professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for compliance? We're looking for a Home-Based Senior Tax Specialist to support our U.S.-based client in the promotional products industry. In this role, you'll manage sales and use tax setup, reporting, and compliance while assisting with audits, reconciliations, and operational tax matters. If you excel at interpreting complex tax regulations, meeting strict deadlines, and collaborating across teams, we'd love to hear from you.
REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES
- Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in reconciliations, tax filings, and general ledger entries, minimizing errors and audit risks.
- Analytical Thinking – Ability to interpret complex tax regulations, identify discrepancies, and draw insights from financial data.
- Communication Skills – Effectively collaborates with CPA firms, tax agencies, and internal teams to clarify requirements and convey findings.
- Problem-Solving – Proactively addresses tax issues, audit findings, and system challenges with practical, compliant solutions.
- Time Management – Capably manages multiple deadlines for filings, reconciliations, and audits in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Read and interpret individual state regulations and evaluate current reporting to ensure compliance. Interpret findings and communicate directly with the customer and/or Account Executive regarding any sales tax-related questions. On complex issues, summarize findings and provide recommendations to the Tax Manager.
- Preparation of monthly sales and use tax filings and associated journal entries, and update SUT procedures as required.
- Subject matter expert for configuration and maintenance of Vertex tax software. Including management of customer resale and tax exemption certificates.
- Assist with sales and use tax audits
- Preparation of year-end 1099 review and filing
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 1–3 years of U.S. federal tax accounting experience, with multi-state sales tax filings.
- Language Proficiency: Strong verbal, written, and English communication skills.
- Working schedule: Ability to work overnight/graveyard shifts in Philippine time or within US operating hours.
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of NetSuite.
- Experience with Vertex is ideal.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Salary Range: PHP 30,000-35,000

- Workdays: Monday through Friday (USA)
