Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company's safety policies and programs in compliance with DOLE Department Order and other related regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Monitor the proper use of PPE, safety devices, and adherence to safety procedures within production lines.
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox meetings, and training sessions for workers and supervisors.
  • Participate in the Safety and Health Committee meetings and coordinate with various departments for safety-related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) and Waste Management procedures.
  • Coordinate with external agencies (DOLE, DENR, LGU, BFP) during audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, permits, and employee training certifications.
  • Support the implementation of the company's Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, including fire and evacuation drills.
  • Assist in maintaining 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards within production areas.

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of any 4-year course, preferably Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or Industrial Technology related.
  • Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer II (40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health Course).
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in safety management, preferably in a food manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledgeable in OSH standards, fire safety, chemical safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Familiar with DOLE, DENR, and BFP compliance requirements.
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and report writing.
  • With good communication and interpersonal skills to conduct training and coordinate with production teams.
  • Physically fit and willing to perform regular plant inspections and fieldwork.

Work Environment

  • Plant-based role with regular exposure to production areas, machinery, and temperature-controlled environments.
  • Requires use of standard PPE (helmet, safety shoes, hairnet, etc.) at all times.
  • Occasionally required to work on shifting schedules to monitor safety during all operations.
