The Project Supervisor – Land Development is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site activities related to land development projects, including grading, utility installation, road construction, and related infrastructure work. This role ensures that development projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards, while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site operations for land development projects.
  • Manage subcontractors and field crews to ensure work is completed per plans, specs, and schedule.
  • Monitor site safety and ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, utility companies, and government agencies.
  • Ensure proper erosion control, stormwater management, and environmental compliance.
  • Track project progress and maintain daily field reports, including site conditions, deliveries, and labor/material usage.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, delays, or design conflicts in collaboration with project managers and engineers.
  • Maintain quality control standards and ensure proper installation of grading, utilities, paving, and other infrastructure.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning sessions.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and schedule development.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure punch list completion prior to turnover.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in land development or civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of site development processes including grading, underground utilities, and paving.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software and MS Office; familiarity with GPS equipment and construction management tools is a plus.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily field-based with some office work as needed.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather and construction site conditions.
