About the Client

The client is building the first digital trading platform for green specialty coffee—bringing transparency, efficiency, and trust to a historically opaque market. By standardizing product classification, mapping coffees to pricing curves with proprietary methodology, ensuring traceability, streamlining logistics and payments, and reducing credit risk, we equip producers, exporters, importers, and roasters with the tools they need to trade with confidence.

We're building the industry's first digital trading platform for green specialty coffee—designed to bring transparency, efficiency, and trust to a historically opaque market. By rationalizing product classification, employing proprietary methodology for pricing curve construction, mapping product to pricing curves, ensuring product traceability, and streamlining logistics, payments, and mitigating credit risk for the parties, we empower both producers, exporters, importers and roasters with the tools they need to trade with confidence.

After extensive system design, development and testing over the past several months, we are targeting the formal Launch of our business for January 2026.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. Initially the role will focus on developing and implementing Accounting and Treasury procedures, flows, systems and controls prior to Launch date, targeted for Q Following Launch, successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Initial focus will be on setting up and managing daily accounting control operations to ensure the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial records post Launch, including key reconciliations between front office and back office systems, bank reconciliations, aged receivables reporting, month-end and year-end close processes, reporting to ensure that reconciliation breaks and aged items are resolved timely.

  • Designing and implementing accounting and treasury procedures, controls, and system enhancements to support the scaling of the business. Investment in and configuration of autoreconciliation processes will be a key factor in allowing Kaffea-X to achieve higher volumes.

  • Preparing accurate year-end financial statements and tax reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Accountant with 3-5 years experience in auditing or accounting work supporting sales and trading or commodities import businesses, who would be excited to be part of a startup venture.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to design and implement accounting processes and management reporting.
  • Experience with accounting and reporting packages like Quickbooks, Zoho Books or Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Experience in establishing and running financial controls for a fast growing business.
  • The individual should be a clear and confident communicator to senior management, and be a self-starter and a strong team player, willing to dive in and get the work done.
  • The candidate shall demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a proactive mindset.
  • The ability to adapt to technologies and evolving business processes.
