Role Overview:

Seeking an experienced
Mainframe z/OS Storage Administrator
to provide
hands-on L3 support
for mainframe OS and storage environments. The role involves managing BAU operations, troubleshooting critical incidents, supporting upgrades, and ensuring 99.99% system availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain
    Mainframe storage (DASD, VTL, DFSMS, HSM)
    and related tools.
  • Manage
    BAU operations, incidents (P1/MI), changes, and DR activities
    .
  • Perform
    system upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning
    .
  • Ensure
    data integrity, backup, replication, and recovery
    across data centers.
  • Collaborate with client SMEs on
    storage optimization and capacity planning
    .

Technical Skills:

  • Core:
    IBM z/OS v2.x, JES2/JES3, CICS, RACF/ACF2, SMP/E, JCL, REXX, Assembler.
  • Storage:
    DFSMS, FlashCopy, SRDF, Global/Mirror, EMC, Hitachi, IBM DS8000/TS7000.
  • Tools:
    OMEGAMON, NetView, CA-1, CA OPS/MVS, RMF/SMF, Fault Analyzer, File-AID.
  • Performance & DR:
    Sysplex setup, capacity planning, DR drills, and MIPS optimization.
  • Additional Exposure:
    DB2, IMS, MQ, Endevor, TWS/CA-7, z/OSMF, and ITIL processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with
    Mainframe storage administration and performance tuning
    .
  • Exposure to
    automation/orchestration tools
    (CA OPS/MVS, BMC, Tivoli).
  • Familiarity with
    DevOps concepts
    and
    modernization frameworks
    on mainframe.
