Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our Japanese restaurant. The Supervisor will ensure smooth service, maintain high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction, and support both the front and back-of-house teams. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for delivering authentic Japanese dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficient coordination between kitchen and service staff.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to meet company expectations.
  • Oversee staff schedules, attendance, and shift coverage.
  • Train, guide, and support team members to maintain excellent customer service and smooth workflow.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist in ordering supplies, and minimise waste.
  • Support management in meeting sales targets and controlling operating costs.
  • Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and work ethic.

Job Requirements

  • At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting (experience in Japanese or Asian cuisine is a strong advantage).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety standards, and customer service practices.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • High school diploma required; additional hospitality or culinary training is preferred.
