Job Summary:

The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services required by the organization in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role ensures that materials and products meet quality standards, are delivered on schedule, and are acquired at the best possible price. The Purchaser works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and logistics teams to support smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, products, and services.
  • Obtain and compare quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate terms of purchase including price, delivery, and payment terms.
  • Create and process purchase orders in line with company policies.
  • Track and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Collaborate with inventory, production, and finance teams to forecast needs and manage stock levels.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
  • Knowledge of supply chain, sourcing, and vendor management practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
