We are looking for IT Director of Communications Engineering who will lead the vision and technical support services to the Kroll Enterprise. Communications engineering includes our identity & access management, M365 collaboration services (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange), external DNS (content delivery network / WAF), Certificate lifecycle management, M365 Copilot & Single Sign On.

This leadership role interacts with Sr. Leadership and provides directions and roadmap to technical teams both FTE and Managed Service provider.

IT Director of Communications Engineering will be responsible for:

· Define and execute the M365 roadmap and align to organizational goals

· Provide broad vision for the team in domain areas

· Partner with the business to identify areas for operational improvement and collaboration

· Oversee administration, governance, and lifecycle management of M365 services (Exchange Hybrid, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra)

· Administration of distribution list automation

· Administration of Mimecast email gateway

· Management and guidance on the Auth0 identity platform

· Administration, automation, and guidance for certificate lifecycle management

· Slack support and oversight

· Support and maintenance of enterprise SSO configurations

· Power Platform support and guidance

· Understanding of Service Now for adherence to SLA for requests in a high-volume environment

· Provide guidance to team members on proper security processes and liaise with InfoSec

· Ensure new processes and procedures are documented

· M365 Copilot support and guidance

· Build and mentor a high-performing, global distributed team

· Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and budget planning

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal IT Director of Communications Engineering candidate is results-driven to lead our M365 strategy and operations. The role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide adoption, optimization, and innovation across identity, M365, and DNS services. Key values are alignment with business priorities and delivering secure, scalable, and user beneficial solutions. We are looking for someone with:

· 10+ years in IT leadership roles, with 5+ years focused on M365 and cloud services

· Proven experience aligning technical initiatives with business outcomes

· Deep knowledge of M365 architecture, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Entra AD, on-prem AD, and enterprise security frameworks

· SME on Exchange Hybrid (on-prem / Online) and supporting services

· Excellent communication (written / verbal) and stakeholder engagement skills across a diverse global community

· Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows based technologies

· Deep understanding of external DNS and ancillary services

· Understands key principals for identity and access management and Auth0

· Experience with proper certificate lifecycle management and alignment to industry standards

· Excellent understanding of managing SSO at enterprise scale
