We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented General Accountant with at least 5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.

The successful candidate will manage and oversee various accounting functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role requires a robust understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), internal controls, and financial regulations. The General Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization's financial integrity and supporting its strategic objectives through insightful analytical reporting.

Role Overview:

  • Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
  • Closing & Reporting: Perform month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures; prepare financial statements in accordance with PFRS.
  • General Ledger Management: Prepare and review journal entries and perform account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure data integrity.
  • Tax & Compliance: Prepare and file statutory reports and tax returns in compliance with local regulations (e.g., BIR, SEC).
  • Audit Support: Coordinate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Inventory & Fixed Assets: Manage fixed asset depreciation and disposals. Oversee pharmaceutical-specific inventory accounting, including valuation and cost accounting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Sales departments. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field. CPA license is highly preferred but not required.
  • With 8-10 years of progressive experience in general accounting, with a significant portion of that experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and local tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry-specific accounting practices (e.g., inventory valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods; cost of goods sold; regulatory compliance) is a significant advantage.
