Role Purpose & Environment

We are a Network Operations Centre (NOC); a centralized location where teams can continuously monitor the performance and health of the network, be the first responders to network disruptions and failures and incident manage these in accordance with good practice. We play an important role in the security, escalation of Network Faults and Governance of the Network. Fundamentally, our overall role and goal is ensuring that our customers attain value from the services we provide.

Equally important is that the NOC is a full of individuals with different beliefs, attitudes, sensitivities and standards. For this reason, we believe that a common set of operating practices are needed to reduce friction and improve understanding and collaboration.

Responsibilities

An IP NOC Engineer monitors, escalates, coordinates, and communicates business and operational incidents impacting the IP network. IP NOC is a team rostered 24/7 who perform the real-time monitoring of events, network alerts, emails, messaging platforms and calls.

The following tasks below are included, but not limited to:

· Raise incident tickets in response to monitoring alerts and reports from internal/external customers.

· Work with internal/external engineering teams, field technicians and third-party carriers to properly manage and resolve a network outage.

· Manage and communicate the incident as per incident/severity metric and guidelines defined.

· Maintain NOC's responsiveness to incidents and day-to-day performance to ensure maximum network uptime.

· Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

· Hands-on coordination and escalation of network and escalated customer incidents.

· Perform impact assessment prior the scheduled/planned network maintenance to identify any potential impact to internal and external networks.

· Responsible for updating the IP network monitoring and performing clean-up related to any network changes.

· Maintain technical capability by constantly learning and keeping up to date with the client's product and services.

· Actively seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency of NOC operations.

· Open to working flexible hours, including rotating shifts and 24/7 availability.

Skills and Experience Required

· Bachelor's or College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent

· Demonstrated strong oral and written English communication skills

· Results driven, high attention to detail with the ability to work with a sense of urgency

· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

· Must be able to learn and adapt quickly to changing and multiple task requirements.

· Knowledgeable in NOC functions/processes (good to have ITIL frameworks knowledge but not required)

· IP network knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting experience

· Good understanding of Internet, Ethernet, IPVPN and other ISP products and technologies

· Good incident management skills, strong documentation

· Has strong analytical thinking and technical aptitude
