Summary of the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Accountant with a robust audit background to play a critical role in our Finance team in the Philippines. This position will primarily focus on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our revenue recognition processes, while also upholding overall audit readiness and internal controls across all financial operations. The ideal candidate will combine solid accounting expertise with a keen eye for compliance, process improvement, and risk mitigation.

What you will do:

Revenue Operations & Compliance:
  • Lead revenue recognition processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all sales and service income in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., FRS/IFRS, specific revenue recognition guidelines for service businesses like project-based vs. staff augmentation).
  • Review and analyze client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment, payment terms, and billing milestones.
  • Manage and reconcile Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, collections follow-up, and resolution of discrepancies (e.g., PO caps, service issues affecting billing).
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Client Services, and Delivery teams to ensure contract terms are clear, billing is accurate, and revenue is recognized appropriately.
  • Track and manage deferred revenue and unbilled receivables accounts, ensuring proper accruals and deferrals.
  • Prepare detailed revenue reports and analyses, identifying trends, variances, and potential revenue leakage.
Internal Controls & Audit Compliance:
  • Design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls over the entire revenue cycle (from contract to cash) to mitigate risks of error or fraud.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits of financial transactions, with a particular focus on revenue streams, expense claims, and payroll, to assess control effectiveness and compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, local statutory regulations (e.g., tax, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, labor laws like maternity benefits), and industry best practices.
  • Prepare audit schedules, provide detailed supporting documentation, and act as a key liaison for external auditors, especially for revenue and related balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in resolving audit findings and implementing corrective actions promptly.
General Accounting & Reporting:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations for assigned areas, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support cash flow management, monitoring inflows related to revenue and managing operational outflows.
  • Ensure proper accounting for intercompany transactions involving our subsidiaries.

What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance.
  • Active CPA license (Philippines) is good to have
  • Minimum of 2-3 years specifically in audit (internal or external), focusing on revenue cycles and controls.
  • Demonstrated expertise in revenue recognition principles for service-based businesses (e.g., project-based vs. staff augmentation).
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience in their design, implementation, or testing.
  • Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Sales, Delivery, HR).
  • Experience in a multinational company with inter company transactions.
  • Experience with cash management and foreign exchange implications.
