Head of Procurement

A leading fintech organisation is seeking a Head of Procurement (Vendor Management) to oversee the entire procurement and vendor lifecycle, driving cost optimisation and establishing robust supplier partnerships.

What you'll do:

As Head of Procurement and Vendor Management, you will play a central role in shaping how the organisation manages its supplier relationships from initial selection through ongoing evaluation.

• Design and develop comprehensive vendor management strategies including policies, controls, and supplier audit practices that align with organisational goals.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of vendors and suppliers to assess performance and ensure adherence to established standards.
• Build strategic relationships with critical suppliers while developing a robust pipeline of potential vendors to support future business needs.
• Lead the selection process for vendors and suppliers including accreditation, onboarding, performance evaluation, and offboarding procedures.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure optimal terms, service levels, and costs that benefit the organisation's operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, and requesting departments to review contracts for clarity, compliance, and enforceability.
• Oversee all procurement activities within the department ensuring timely delivery of goods and services without compromising on quality or cost-effectiveness.
• Partner with various internal teams to plan and execute procurement strategies that drive operational excellence across the organisation.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives within procurement operations to enhance processes and outcomes.
• Identify potential risks in procurement activities and implement effective mitigation strategies while ensuring strict compliance with legal regulations and internal controls.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex vendor relationships or overseeing full procurement cycles within large organisations.
• Proven track record of upholding high standards of integrity while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements throughout all procurement activities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships both internally across departments and externally with diverse suppliers.
• Outstanding communication abilities allowing you to clearly articulate expectations during negotiations or when reviewing contracts with stakeholders.
• Advanced analytical skills combined with financial acumen empower you to make data-driven decisions that optimise costs without sacrificing quality.
• Extensive experience working effectively in cross-functional teams comprised of individuals from different nationalities or backgrounds.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related discipline provides a solid foundation for success in this role.
• At least seven years' experience specialising in supply chain management—particularly procurement or vendor management—ideally gained within FMCG, fintech or digital lending sectors.
• Minimum five years' leadership experience managing teams of four or more direct reports within high-volume contract environments.
• Proficiency in negotiating large-scale contracts as well as managing extensive supplier portfolios ensures you can handle complex challenges confidently.
