Your Role
As a Supply Chain and Expediting Officer, you are responsible for:

• Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment; ensuring safety of people, plant and equipment; providing technical expertise.

• Provide Supply and Logistics support to Operational and Maintenance departments to ensure the timely and most cost-effective delivery of parts and materials required to support production.

Safety
Demonstrate absolute commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and practice:

• Ensuring work is conducted in accordance with Telfer procedures, policies and safe systems of work

• Prior to undertaking any task ensure a risk assessment is conducted, effective controls are selected and implemented

• If any unsafe act or condition occurs stop the task, communicating/escalating the risk and act to mitigate the risk prior to commencing the task

• Ensuring personnel are authorized, qualified and competent to undertake the task/s

• Participating in site safety initiatives and supporting the NewSafe behaviors in the team

• Ensuring a safety-first work culture; appropriate use of PPE, plant and equipment is operated safely within the required guidelines

• Participating in safety/toolbox meetings; communicating any concerns and adjusting behavior in accordance with agreed outcomes

Technical
Demonstrate commitment and optimize resource usage to deliver on expectations:

• Providing Supply and Logistics Support to Operational and Maintenance departments to ensure the timely and most cost-effective delivery of parts and materials according to planned requirements

• Managing the delivery of required parts and materials in line with the planned schedule and expected delivery.

• Monitoring vendor performance and work with Supply to identify performance gaps and delays and to ensure expediting issues are being coordinated and resolved

• Maintaining a high level of participation in shutdown maintenance ensuring the delivery of goods and / or materials as required

• Managing routable items; processing and liaising with Material Coordinators in maintaining stock levels of repairable material items kept in the warehouse, inclusive of Request for Quote and Purchase Order process

• Reviewing weekly work plans and commenting on parts availability to Fixed Plant Maintenance

• Monitoring and resolving all parked invoices via workflows supplied from AP and Purchasing teams

• Assisting all site departments with any freight enquiries or issues

• Providing inventory control assistance where required

• Reviewing direct purchase and stock items being supplied and identify and make recommendations for inventory changes and cost savings

• Reporting to Supervisor with any matters that are unclear or concerns

• Communicating with Supervisor regarding work plans and take responsibility for daily work requirements

Planning & Scheduling:

• Contributing to the plan for the next swing/handover

• Participating in and contributing to Maintenance planning processes

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficient in using SAP warehouse management system;

• 2-5 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining and minerals, processing, oil & gas or heavy industries;

• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel.

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

• Demonstrate an understanding and have experience around supply chains, procurement, expediting and inventory control;

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Ability to build good relationships with suppliers and people working onsite

• High attention to detail.
