General Description

The Product Development Manager (Tech Solutions Director) is responsible for leading the planning, improvement, and launch of HSSI's products—particularly inverters, solar energy systems, and related solutions. This role ensures that products meet performance, quality, and cost targets while aligning with company strategy, market demand, safety standards, and customer requirements. The role will oversee from product testing to market launch and post-release improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the company's product roadmap and development priorities in coordination with stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Sales, Operations, and Management).
  • Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and technology reviews to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for product improvement.
  • Translate business goals and customer needs into product specifications, technical requirements, and development milestones.

Research & Development

  • Ensure products meet performance requirements related to efficiency, safety, durability, and cost targets.
  • Lead failure analysis and technical problem-solving efforts related to new and existing product lines.
  • Ensure continuous product innovation aligned with market and technological advancements.

Project Management

  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource planning for product development initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure deliverables are completed within deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, technical proposals, and recommendations to leadership.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure products adhere to technical standards, regulatory requirements, and industry certifications (local and international).
  • Coordinate with QA to develop product testing procedures and inspection criteria.
  • Resolve quality issues identified during testing, field usage, or customer feedback.

Product Launch & Support

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to prepare product documentation, manuals, training materials, and launch plans.
  • Provide product technical expertise for internal users, suppliers, customers, and after-sales support teams.
  • Monitor product performance post-launch and recommend improvements based on data, warranty cases, and customer feedback.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • PRC License is an advantage but not required.
  • Advanced degree or formal R&D/Product Management training is a plus.

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in product development, R&D, or engineering—preferably in power electronics, solar energy, or manufacturing.
  • Strong background in inverter systems, power conversion, or related technologies is highly preferred.
  • Experience leading engineering or product development teams.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge in electronics design, power systems, and inverter architecture.
  • Proficient in engineering design tools and simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of product certification processes and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
