Position Title: Sous Chef

Reports To: Restaurant Supervisor / Restaurant Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet company standards for quality, presentation, and portioning.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels; assist in ordering and receiving supplies to maintain adequate stock.
  • Help develop new menu items, recipes, and seasonal offerings in collaboration with the Head Chef.
  • Handle and resolve kitchen-related concerns, including staff performance and operational issues.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Prepare reports related to kitchen performance
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, or similar role in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards during peak hours.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
