JOB SUMMARY

He/She will assist the Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy Compliance Officer and Regulatory Compliance Department Head to perform the oversight function. He/She will spearhead initiatives in managing and the implementation of the Bank's compliance program which includes identification, monitoring and controlling compliance risks.  He/She will support the group's objectives in ensuring the implementation of the Compliance program and management of regulatory risks to sustain and complement goals of the bank.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communications and Advisory Management
1. Ensures that the Business/Support Units are advised of new/amended regulations and legislations through the issuance of synopsis and key takeaways
2. Provides guidance to Business/Support Units on regulatory matters
3. Issues reminders to Business/Support Units on non-routine regulatory requirements or as needed
4. Evaluates impact of upcoming regulatory issuances or legislations based on Exposure Drafts from regulators; provides guidance to Business/Support Units of possible impact to bank operators;
5. Reports compliance issues to Chief Compliance Officer, Board Audit Committee and/or Senior Management
6. Prepares required reports of Compliance Office to Regulators
7. Overall coordinator for Compliance on matters related to Reports on Crimes and Losses (RCL), Establishment of Branch/Branch-Lite Units Licenses, Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

Gompliance Risk Management
1. ldentifies regulatory matters and legislations, assess and monitor compliance risk
2. Coordinates, recommends and/or develops policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks
3. Manages implementation of periodic testing for compliance of Business/Support Units with regulatory matters and legislations
4. Monitors and coordinates rectification of noted exposures to compliance risks
5. Supports the Business/Support Units in initiatives to identify, monitor and control compliance risks in new products and services
6. Provides oversight and assistance on compliance risk concerns of assigned business units

Liaison with Regulators
1. Manages and coordinates requirements for prior, during and post regulatory on-site review
2. Coordinates queries/requests for regulatory off-site reviews
3. Monitors and tracks submission of responses to regulatory requirements during on-site and off-site regulatory reviews
4. Monitors and tracks action tems and deliverables from on-site/off-site regulatory reviews
5. Establish and maintains harmonious relationship with the regulators
6. Handles queries/requests/requirements of various regulators
7. Alternates in the preparation of required reports of Regulatory Compliance Group to regulators
8. Assess items for escalation pertinent to regulator's requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs or risk management roles
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business management or degree in law
  • In-depth knowledge of the banking/financial institutions standards and regulations
  • Experience in internal audit, risk assessments, regulatory engagements and reporting
