We are looking for a skilled Medical Billing Administrator to manage end-to-end medical claim processing. Responsibilities include submitting claims through the EHR system, verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, reviewing patient bills, and following up on unpaid or denied claims. You will communicate with insurance payers to resolve issues, ensure payments follow contract terms, maintain accurate billing records, and respond to patient and insurance inquiries.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in medical billing, strong knowledge of insurance systems and medical terminology, and proficiency with EHR/EMR and billing software. This independent contractor role offers permanent work-from-home, HMO coverage for eligible locations, immediate hiring, and steady long-term work.

Responsibilities
  • Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
  • Prepare and submit daily insurance claims through the EHR following the claims workflow
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations when needed
  • Review patient bills for completeness and accuracy
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims within standard billing timelines
  • Contact insurance payers to clarify and resolve denied claims
  • Ensure insurance payments comply with contract terms
  • Maintain accurate billing records and patient payment history
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance companies
  • Stay updated with billing regulations, insurance policies, and payer requirements
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for accurate and timely billing submissions
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist / Billing Administrator
  • Knowledge of insurance systems
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Experience using EHR/EMR and medical billing software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
