Key Responsibilities
- Event Management Framework
- Define and own the event management strategy across hybrid IT (on-prem, cloud, SaaS).
- Establish governance for event lifecycle management, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with ITIL standards.
- Reduce noise by driving event normalization, correlation, and prioritization processes.
- Observability & Monitoring Integration
- Integrate event management with enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Define rules, thresholds, and alerting strategies to ensure actionable events reach the right teams.
- Collaborate with SRE and monitoring teams to align events with SLOs/SLIs and business KPIs.
- AIOps & Intelligent Event Handling
- Deploy AIOps platforms (Moogsoft, BigPanda, Dynatrace Davis AI, ServiceNow AIOps) for event correlation and anomaly detection.
- Automate root cause identification and suppression of duplicate/false-positive alerts.
- Define workflows for automated remediation, integrating with orchestration and ITSM platforms.
- Incident & Problem Management Integration
- Ensure seamless integration of event management with Incident and Problem Management workflows.
- Drive event-to-incident mapping, automated ticket creation, and enrichment in ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management).
- Provide actionable insights from event analytics for reducing MTTR and improving service availability.
- Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Define event management KPIs (noise reduction %, actionable alerts, MTTR impact, automation %).
- Conduct event quality reviews and fine-tune correlation/automation logic.
- Act as an SME to train teams, set best practices, and drive enterprise adoption.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in IT Operations / Event & Monitoring / Service Management.
- Expertise in enterprise monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ELK, Prometheus, etc.).
- Strong hands-on experience with
event correlation, enrichment, and noise reduction frameworks
. - Familiarity with AIOps platforms (Moogsoft, BigPanda, ServiceNow AIOps, Dynatrace AI).
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices (Event, Incident, Problem, Change).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
- Experience in integrating event management with ITSM workflows (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise event management transformation programs.
- Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring & eventing (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite).
- Exposure to event-driven automation and orchestration frameworks.
- Relevant certifications: ITIL Expert, ServiceNow Event Management Specialist, Dynatrace Certified Professional, Splunk Certified Consultant.
