Description

Virtual Staffing Solutions is currently looking for Medical Referrals Specialists to join our growing healthcare support team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing patient referrals by verifying insurance coverage, securing authorizations, and ensuring that all referral-related documentation is accurate and complete. You will help ensure patients receive timely access to the care they need while supporting efficient billing and claims processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain, process, and track referrals and authorizations accurately and on time, including urgent and stat cases.
  • Communicate referral and authorization details with patients, providers, and specialists.
  • Monitor referral statuses in the EMR and follow up until fully resolved.
  • Coordinate re-authorizations to prevent lapses in patient care.
  • Assist patients with specialist appointment scheduling when needed.
  • Review consultation reports and ensure timely processing of follow-ups.
  • Handle referral-related inquiries via phone, portal, walk-ins, or mail.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for providers and staff on referrals and scheduling.
  • Maintain proper documentation in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, clinics, and care teams to support continuity of care
Job Benefits
  • Minimum of 1 year BPO experience in US Medical Billing or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of US billing, collections, coding, and healthcare regulations
  • Experience in assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
